The World Environment Centre (WEC) announced its 2012 Annual Gold Medal for International Corporate Achievement in Sustainable Development winner to be Unilever. The company was recognised for its deep and longstanding commitment to advancing environmental sustainability through its strategic business initiative The Unilever Sustainable Living Plan. This plan addresses environmental improvements with the company’s direct operations and suppliers. For example by 2020 all agricultural raw materials will be sourced sustainably.
