First Lamb of the Season

Whilst we are gearing up for our 2014 Lambing Live Day we are thrilled to announce the arrival of our first lamb of the season.

She arrived a little earlier than expected, 4 weeks to be exact! Our shepherdess found her early yesterday morning in the lambing sheds. No one is quite sure how she has arrived so early, but on his twitter feed Farmer Jake said 'I think someone has had a night on the tiles!'.

Our Overbury Farms Lambing Day will be held on Sunday 13th April.

A short tractor and trailer ride takes you up to Park Farm, where our flock of ewes can usually be counted on to give birth whilst you’re there! You can stay up at the sheds for as long as you like. There are lots of interesting displays on our work on the Farm, including one hosted by our Warrener’s (Game Keeping) team which is always a firm favourite.

Before or after your visit to the sheds, there are more displays to take in at the Village Hall where there’s also the opportunity to have a bite of lunch or to just sit back and relax with a cup of tea and a bun. The ‘Overbury Pantry’ will be selling homemade produce as well – yummy cakes, chutneys and jams, made by the lovely people of Overbury to help raise money for the Overbury Village Hall.

We charge £5 for the trailer rides (accompanied children are free) and we have to insist that pregnant ladies do not go up to the lambing sheds due to health and safety concerns. There is plenty of free parking available.
