Lambing Live Open Day 2012

Our 2012 Lambing Live Day was on Sunday 15th April (between 10am and 3.30pm), with a trailer ride up to Park Farms from the Village Hall where the Overbury team did a fantastic job & raised lots of money for their village hall fund. Keep reading below the YouTube 2011 clip for what went on. See how 2012 went with photographs etc on our Facebook & our News – please add comments and/or photographs

We were blessed with a beautiful day. There were refreshments and lunch in the Village Hall, displays about the Farms and what we get up to, and a chance to meet some of our team, a raffle with prizes including A Wool Room Duvet, a Wool Room set of 2 wool filled pillows, a family ticket for the Cotswold Farm Park, Two course Sunday Lunch for Two at the Yew Tree Conderton, a selection of Overbury Lamb & a Magnum of Champagne. Drawn at 15.30 & results on our news page.

We loved having the Wool Room who had a marquee showing their fantastic wool products. They were next to ‘Hector’ one of our Texel rams – & took some great photographs of him which I’m sure will be on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/thewoolroom!

Overbury Grasshoppers were the other side of Hector and children had great fun with some of their games.

Whitcombe Garden was Open under the National Garden Scheme – for more details

The main event was obviously the lambing at Park Farm which was very busy all day. The Keepers with their friends & foes were also at Park Farm in another barn to answer countryside questions.

We showed videos of many aspects of the Farms’ work, including clips of the lambing process, in the Village Hall for those that couldn’t make it to Park Farm. A butcher from Randle Parker Foods was describing the different cuts of lamb in his fridge.
