Lambing Live Open Day – Sunday 13th April 2014
Our extremely popular Lambing Live Open Day was held on Sunday 13th April 2014. With a trailer full of excited families in the beaming sunshine the first tractor left Overbury Village hall at 10am, with the last coming down from Park Farm at 3.30pm.
A short tractor and trailer ride (which is the only way to access the lambing sheds) took over 800 people up to Park Farm, where a number of lucky visitors saw a lamb being born! There were lots of interesting displays on our work on the Farm, including one hosted by our Warrener’s (Game Keeping) team which was a firm favourite.
Everyone finished their visit in the Overbury Village Hall. We had wonderful homemade lamb casserole on sale, as well as omelette, Hayles Farm apple juice and homemade cakes. With the sun shinning we also had Bennets Farm ice cream.
For the first time this year the ‘Overbury Pantry’ was selling homemade produce including yummy cakes, chutneys and jams, made by the lovely people of Overbury to help raise money for the Overbury Village Hall.
A massive thank you to all our helpers and supporters. We had a wonderful raffle with prizes donated by the Cotswold Farm Park, Stow Agriculture, Gorgeous Beauty Therapy, Blue August Moon, Revills Farm Shop, Back into Action and Valefresco.
Our 2013 Lambing Live Day was on Sunday 14th April. For more details on how the day went, please see click here.
