Jake Freestone, Farm Manager, and Penelope Bossom, Owner of Overbury Farms, will be conducting the tours, giving you an opportunity to gain considerable insight into the management of the farm as you tour around the beautiful Bredon Hill.

Tractor & trailer rides will depart at 9am, 10.30am, 12noon, 2.00pm and 3.30pm. The ride will last approximately 1hour 30minutes and take in various aspects of Overbury Farms & Estate.

Places are free, but must be booked in advance.

Open Farm Sunday is a national event where farms across the country will be welcoming the public as part of LEAF’s commitment to educating the wider public about how their food is produced.

We are still trying to contact the winner of the first prize, but all the other winners have now been notified.

We had a huge number of completed quiz sheets, so our work is cut out for us! However, we have started checking through them and will contact the lucky winner later this week.

Raffle prizes include A Wool Room Duvet, a Wool Room set of 2 wool filled pillows, a family ticket for the Cotswold Farm Park, Two course Sunday Lunch for Two at the Yew Tree Conderton, a selection of Overbury Lamb & a Magnum of Champagne. Draw at 15.30

This year we’ll have a marquee from the Wool Room, a display from Countrywide and support from Sainsbury’s, as well as our usual favourites like the Gamekeeping team. For more details, please go to our Events Page

Last year’s event saw a record attendance, helped by the blazing sunshine; and whilst the lack of rain recently hasn’t exactly been a farmer’s friend, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for the day and looking forward to welcoming you to the Farms!

First we picked the fruit. A lot was picked earlier but there was still fruit on the trees

Washing apples

The apples (& some pears) needed washing first

Then Farmer Jake (and others) fed the machine with fruit to be cut up

The fruit was cut up and added to the press and then the fruit was pressed into juice

The juice was poured into bottles & containers (some will be frozen)

The bottles were put out to sell

Money was counted (to pay Kemerton Orchard Group who kindly brought their press)

The buckets were washed & we all went home

On Sunday  17th April we had our annual ‘Lambing Live’ event at Park Farm, home to our flock of Mule and Mule x Texel ewes.  We were very lucky with the weather with hot sunshine all day for our visitors.  In total somewhere between 850-1,000 people turned up to learn about our sheep flock and how we manage the farm and the conservation on Bredon Hill.  In addition we had Paul, Rod and Tom our Gamekeepers talking about life as a keeper.  At the village hall we had lots of displays of local food including the an opportunity to purchase some local food and lamb burgers being sold by our great friends at Eckington Manor Cookery School
